Bill Ayrton has been enjoying the Windermere Valley for over 20 years, especially the lake, skiing, hiking in the mountains, the closeness to nature and the people make this a wonderful place to live and play. He is an avid kayaker, bird carver and gardener. As a geologist Bill has been involved in exploration for oil and gas in Western Canada for over 40 years, and currently specializes in giving courses and designing training programs for the petroleum industry. He has been involved in valley activities such as Terra Vista Fun Days, the Windermere Community Association, organizing the Annual Lake Windermere Clean-up, and initiating the Windermere Fall Fair and the Sing-Along Supper and and acquiring the Hoodoos Property in conjunction with the Nature Trust of British Columbia. The Wings over the Rockies festival provides a unique opportunity to share the geology of the Rockies and specifically the Columbia Valley.
