Ross MacDonald
Ross chose to
settle in the Columbia Valley - drawn by the vistas, the wildlife, its
history; and the fact that the valley has more kindred spirits per
square kilometre than any place he has discovered so far.
Ross is
energized by the linkages between people and the environment through
time. He
has sought to illustrate the human/land connection
in his work for national parks and historic sites. He is the founder of
the
David Thompson Bicentennial initiative that has projects across the
continent.
A past chair of the Wings Over the Rockies, Ross points to the festival
as an example of
how an exciting dream has inspired lots of people and
rippled
into many new initiatives. He is the current chair of Columbia River
Greenways
Alliance, a spinoff of Wings. Ross enjoys kayaking, canoeing,
photography, wildlife watching, and home renovations.
